Suggestion on proximity searching...

Was thinking maybe it would make more sense to not apply distance filters by default... only reason I say this is we want to increase the chances of a result without having the user's select/deselect more than they really have to (at least that's what advanced search means to me lol).. Maybe just limit results to a maximum # of matches (maybe a default value of somewhere between 100-200? - this can be a setting in user profile) and just have the default sort column by distance so they'll only see the closest ones to the farthest ones. I know personally I won't spend much time hunting through more than 100 hits at one time unless I'm really desperately searching for something, but I'm also more inclined to look elsewhere if I don't find something at least *close* to what I'm looking for in a single pass...

If/when the site becomes popular enough and we start getting hundreds (or thousands lol) of posts then it might make sense as admins to re-enable this filter by default? Or maybe being on or off by default can be also be a user profile setting they can change themselves....
