Posting a listing doesn't go in the right category

I created a new listing while in the laptops category.. but when I saved my listing it went into a category at the top level called 'laptops' instead of going into "/ top / buy/sell / electronics / computers / laptops". And it doesn't show as visible anywhere when browsing the listings. I created it with a test account: test02.

You are on the listing view screen, in which only the category the listing is in is visible. You can easily click on the category name as a shortcut to go directly to the category browser in the specific category. Also, if a listing is not approved yet, it will only be visible by the creator, and the category counts will not be affected.

I don't understand what you mean. There is no "top category" called laptops.

Maybe it isn't that its going into the wrong category, maybe the listing not being approved yet is preventing it from showing..? but if your popup is true then I should still be able to see my own listing even if approval is outstanding...
