Issues with Contact Feature...

James I just tested this but it still doesn't work (no email goes out)? When I click 'Contact' then 'Send' nothing happens. Also when clicking on 'contact' while browsing as guest it complains that I need to update my email in location but that's not possible unless I'm logged in...

I don't think we should rush this item.. we should see some formatting controls like we do when creating a new listing..

Not sure the default message is such a great idea though it might encourage carbon-copy type spam messages from people.... We should also be allowed to edit the subject line to read something else...

You need to clear your browser cache an reload. I did as well, there was a previous deployment where the button didn't work. Also, the guest contact was fixed by allowing the entry of an email (since Kijiji allows it also).

I don't want formatting controls because people will try to spam others.

Subject line is fixed for security reasons, same as ebay and others. Kijiji doesn't allow nothing but basic plain text either.

Keep in mind, this is only for initial contact. Further correspondence is between the user's themselves.

But I think this shouldn't appear as a popout window, if it doesn't get its own screen then maybe just display it in the main window somewhere? it's such a tiny box with so little in there to be given a popout. Also, pressing 'enter' while typing in text doesn't allow you to go to the next line..?

Also there's two prompts for the 'you must provide an email address'.. when trying to contact the poster as a guest.. one on the dialog bog popup and one as a system message at the bottom....?

Yes, that's by design. Once is to make sure the user sees it, the other remains at the bottom for they dismiss the window (as a reminder).

Screen real estate is short, so it has to remain a popup for now so it's also in the same view screen.

Enter key issue is fixed (on my local instance).

Not sure what you mean about the carbon-copy of messages, please give an example, as it relates to spam.
